BetUK, part of the large LeoVegas family, provides a broad range of sports betting markets for punters, bringing some excellent betting opportunities for players to enjoy.

They are labelled as a new bookmaker because they came onto the scene only in 2018. But still, that has given them plenty of time to become a recognisable, established brand that punters can trust.

But do they bring as much to the table as some of their competitors? What are their strengths and weaknesses?

We check it all out in our BetUK review.

Pros
  • Excellent margins on football
  • A well-laid-out site that is easy to navigate
  • User-friendly mobile betting app
  • A strong social media presence
Cons
  • A lack of live-streaming options
  • Minimal ongoing promotions
  • Limited payment methods

Is BetUK Safe? 🔒

As with all bookmakers that we review, BetUK is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling commission.

Some excellent online security tips can be found in the BetUK help section, including basic information on how to create a BetUK account safely and securely – from creating a solid password to keeping your info secret from others.

They also state that they won’t ever ask you for your login information besides verification when you contact their customer service.

Firewalls and encryption are in place to protect transactions, and they use a service called HooYo for verification.

Overall, BetUK is a highly secure online betting site to use.

BetUK Welcome Offer 🎁

Betuk Welcome Bonus

Betuk Welcome Bonus

You can claim the BetUK sign-up offer by joining the site and placing a £10 bet to unlock £30 in free bets.

The welcome bonus offer, on the surface, looks like a generous promo – offering you three times your initial £10 qualifying stake back as free bets.

However, the T&Cs of the free bets are a source of disappointment. The 3 x £10 bets from the BetUK sign-up offer have to be used on Accas only.

While there is a low threshold of 1/3 (1.33) odds per leg, each £10 BetUK bonus credit has to be used on an Acca of at least four selections. So, because of that limitation on the BetUK free bets, it takes something away from the overall promotion as it makes it harder to return any profit from such a tricky bet type.

Here, we walk through how to claim the BetUK sign-up offer:

  • Register with BetUK

The BetUK welcome offer is advertised front and centre when you visit their site – there’s a red ‘Claim Offer’ button that you can click from the banner to get the registration started. Alternatively, a ‘Join’ button is at the top of the BetUK page.

To register, some basic information will have to be provided. You will need a working email address and telephone number, plus create a username and a strong password of at least eight characters. In addition, your name, date of birth and address will be added, and any info given has to match the ID you will use for account verification.

  • Make a Deposit

Part of opting into the BetUK sign-up offer is depositing, and this entire process can be completed on a computer or mobile device. The minimum deposit amount at BetUK is £10 for qualifying payment methods. There’s more below in this BetUK review about payments and withdrawals.

  • Place a Qualifying Bet

The qualifying bet for the BetUK welcome offer needs a minimum £10 stake on sports and has to be wagered at a minimum of 1/2 (1.5) odds. The qualifying bet has to be placed within seven days of opening the account. After that qualifying bet has been settled, it will trigger the release of the three free bet bonuses.

  • Using the Free Bets

Once the three free £10 bets arrive in the account from the BetUK welcome offer, you only have seven days to use them up before they expire, which is relatively standard. Each free bet has to be applied to an Acca of at least four selections.

Within the bet slip, once you have built a qualifying minimum 4-fold bet, then you can check the box on the slip to use the free bet as a stake. Note the stake is not returned with any winnings.

BetUK Welcome Bonus T&C 📝

New BetUK.com players aged 18 or over are eligible for the BetUK sign-up offer. Depositing and making a qualifying bet are opt-in requirements for the promo, which is available on mobile, desktop and the BetUK app.

The qualifying bet has to be placed and settled within seven days of opening the account, and the qualifying bet has to be at minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5) for a minimum of £10. If the bet is cashed out, partially cashed out or voided, it will not qualify.

After the qualifying bet is settled, 3 x £10 free bets will be credited, which must be used on Acca bets with four or more selections at minimum 1/3 (1.33) odds. Free bet credits will expire after seven days if they haven’t been used. Finally, the BetUK sign-up offer bonuses can’t be used in conjunction with other BetUK offers.

BetUK Sports Betting Features

Sports betting features can accentuate an online betting experience, so this is a good area of focus. For the BetUK review, we found some excellent features but nothing that sets BetUK apart from the crowd.

BetUK In-Play Betting

There are some noticeable features that you would expect to find. Live in-play betting, for example, is extensive and one of BetUK’s strengths – it is something they push a lot.

For football matches, you can find a decent Bet Builder tool where you make selections from markets like Correct Score, Double Chance and Total Goals to form your bet.

Statistics

Another good aspect of the BetUK betting features is their statistics. For example, load an individual football match and see stats such as head-to-head, line-ups, and the current league table. In addition, you can look at all the stats on a pop-out screen to ease the clutter on the sportsbook page.

BetUK Live Streaming

No widespread live sports streaming is on the site. What there is, is limited to horse racing only, which is disappointing.

BetUK Offers & Promotions

They also aren’t a bookmaker to go to if you are trying to target bonuses and promotions either – this is a very limited area of the BetUK experience.

They have a UK Acca Club where a free £5 bet is awarded for placing a stake of £20 on a minimum five-leg Accas. There is also a Free Bet Club for wagering at least £15 each week, but it’s only for horse racing selections, and it returns only a £3 bet.

Most BetUK ongoing offers and promotions are geared towards their casino.

BetUK Odds 🔢

BetUK is in a partnership with Manchester City, and tying into that, they offer a 10% Profit Boost worth up to £200 on every City game, with punters being able to claim one Profit Boost per match.

Betuk 10% Profit Boost

Betuk 10% Profit Boost

This is a fantastic feature to remember if you want to place a wager on a Manchester City match.

Looking at bookmaker margins for Premier League football matches, some great returns were on offer. Bookie margins of 2.75% and 2.56% were seen on the outright markets for a couple of fixtures.

That’s a phenomenally low margin, putting some value back on the punter’s side. While in direct odds comparisons against some competitors, BetUK could shine better, those low margins are something to consider.

BetUK Sports Coverage

There are over twenty-five sports on offer at BetUK, all of which can be accessed by a drop-down menu. However, there are a few gripes about the overall BetUK experience, and navigation is one of them.

It can be hard to find the desired markets, and sometimes when exploring around, the site tends to slow down. Not to where it wasn’t functional, but at the same time, enough to be noticed.

In-play football markets and horse racing are the staples of the BetUK sportsbook experience, and that will likely be enough to keep most casual punters happy.

Besides that, you get good coverage on everything from formula 1, greyhounds, baseball, cricket, golf and eSports. They deserve a shout-out for their eSports coverage because they bring a lot of market variety to that genre, such as Map Handicaps.

In addition, novelty bets and politics are available for non-sports betting options.

BetUK Football ⚽

Football betting is a solid area of the BetUK experience. Their prominent ambassador, whose face is on their welcome bonus offer, is former Tottenham and England striker Teddy Sheringham.

Punters have a good platform for betting, and the sportsbook is presented well so that you can easily find future matches. Leagues and competitions listed come from far and wide, even fixtures from a Japan University Women’s Football Tournament that was in play when visiting the site for this BetUK review.

There is a Bet Builder tool on offer for football betting and something called Pre-Packs. These are bets where the bookie has combined match stat predictions, such as Full Time Manchester City / Most Corners Manchester City for a fixture.

BetUK Horse Racing 🏇

There is horse racing to explore, but we found the section could have been faster to load. There are some international racing markets alongside UK and Irish meetings. To their credit, we were surprised to see some stats from Timeform incorporated into racecards.

Markets marked with a pink EW+ icon have extra places for each way punters. Alongside the traditional race winner market, there is a separate section for Forecast & Tricast. The racing section somehow looks very basic, but it’s pretty decent.

They have British horse racing live streams from many venues, including Newmarket, Sandown, Newcastle, Epsom, Cheltenham and Ayr. Irish racing is also included, while racing streams can be viewed on the website and mobile.

Betting Markets

BetUK hits many of the right notes for the variety of betting markets. For example, there are a lot of pre-match and live in-play football markets, ranging from the popular Over/Under 2.5 Goals to Player Specials (assist, score & assist, score & get booked etc). And there were examples where 400+ pre-match betting markets were available for a single Premier League match.

There was a lot of market variety for basketball and NFL in the sportsbook, perfect for US sports fans. Tennis was also a standout sport, with markets including Set Winner, Individual Point Winner and Total Games per Set betting.

There are dynamic markets to be found in play as well. Instant Betting, for example, allows a punter to bet on the next tennis point or on a specific event to happen in the next five minutes of a football match.

BetUK App 📱

Betuk App

Betuk Mobile App via App Store

A BetUK app for both iOS and Android is available so that you can take your betting experience with you. Scrolling down to the bottom of their website will get you to the relevant link you need.

The BetUK app is relatively intuitive and looks like the website’s homepage. But there’s a difference – the mobile app is easier to get around when finding markets you want. It’s just a more fluid experience.

It also feels quicker than their website, which is a positive considering that they have good in-play betting options. The bottom menu quickly links to promotions and support, and you get features including live racing streams and cash out on every sport.

Registration for an account can also be done through the BetUK app – so they get high marks in this area.

BetUK Casino 🎰

The BetUK casino is big. It’s worth remembering that they are owned by LeoVegas, who was first an exclusive online casino before they added a sportsbook over there. So BetUK feels slightly like a sportsbook with a casino added for extras.

The look and feel of the BetUK Casino does look a bit dated, but there are some positives, including demo play, so you can get a good gameplay experience before putting any funds in your account.

There is a decent, if not particularly extensive, section for Megaways and Progressive Jackpot Slots. Fishin’ Frenzy, Eye Of Horus and The Goonies are among some of their popular slot games. Each game has an info link which will tell you the reels, rows, max win and full instructions on how to play, which is excellent.
Their live BetUK casino isn’t that big, with a handful of selections such as Crazy Coin Flip Live, Blackjack variations and Roulette variations, including Vinnie Jones and Lighting Roulette. Despite having some big gaming partners, including Red Tiger, Evolution and NetEnt, there’s just a feeling that the casino is not as big as it could be.

BetUK Customer Support 📞

A Help link in the main menu will direct you to a page where you can either click through to the Help Centre, start a BetUK live chat or click on their email address. So there is good support there from this operator.

A look into the Help Centre, we found a lot of beneficial information on a range of topics. For example, a look at how to use a free bet showed screenshot examples of what to do and offered a link for General T&CS of bonuses.

Sometimes help sections can take a while to find the information you want. But not at BetUK, it is perfect, and there’s a search tool to top it all off.

And clicking the BetUK Live Chat button will quickly get you to a customer service rep. We connected within a minute, and their support chat is available 24/7.

BetUK Deposits & Withdrawals 💳

The minimum amount that can be deposited at BetUK is £10.

For deposits at BetUK, you will only find a narrow range of options – you can only use debit cards, bank transfers or PayPal.

The options are limited here, especially compared to many other bookmaker sites. Customers can have up to three debit cards linked to an account, and further verification will be needed before adding more.

To withdraw, click on the Profile icon and then the Withdraw link. Put in the amount you wish to transfer out of your account, BetUK states in their help files that it could take up to five working days, depending on the process method. Things will be quicker if you verify your account before the first withdrawal.

How to Place a Bet at BetUK?

The BetUK sports betting options layout is easy on the eye, so markets and odds can be easily viewed. After signing up and logging in, you can browse their sportsbook. For example, if you are looking for the latest BetUK Manchester City match, browse the Premier League or use the search tool on the page to find matches.

Clicking on the match will allow you to see all the different markets and bet options. Make a selection, for example. Over 3.5 Goals by clicking the odds. The selection will now be added to your slip – enter your stake, click ‘Place Bet’, and you’re good to go.

FAQs

Withdrawals at BetUK can take up to five days to be processed. That includes the security checks that they do before releasing the funds.

The support email address at BetUK is support@BetUK.com, or there is a live chat available on the website and app.

After registration with BetUK, new players can get up to £30 worth of Free Bets after depositing and placing a bet of at least £10 with the BetUK new customer offer.

Final Verdict

There are some highs and lows to mention in the summary of this BetUK review. The variety spread throughout their sportsbook for sports, markets and bets per event is excellent. Their live in-play betting is a really strong point and worth a look for regular users.

The site looks nice and fresh, and the fact that there is a well-rated betting app also sets things off nicely. Football and horse racing, in particular, are very strong areas.

But navigation isn’t terrific on the main website, while an overall lack of BetUK offers for sports is also a knock against them. What there is feels somewhat restricted by terms and conditions, such as the free bets from the BetUK new customer offer, which can only be used for Accas. Limited payment methods and only horse racing live-streaming on the site are also further negatives.

But to finish on a positive note, there are good bookmaker margins and nice touches around the site with statistics. It all adds up to BetUK being an excellent solid betting platform but perhaps struggling to break out of the middle of the pack at the moment.
